ELPI™ Applications

ELPI™ is an instrument which measures particle number concentration and size distribution in real-time in the size range of 7nm - 10µm. The rapid time response of the ELPI™ makes it and ideal tool for studying unstable concentrations and size distributions, and evolution of size distributions. The ELPI™ can also be used for measuring particle charge distributions in its operational size range. The low pressure impactor used in the ELPI™ is a robust stainless steel detector that can be applied to even rough environments. The particles are collected in the impactor, and the size fractionated samples can be analysed for chemical composition after the measurement. Typical ELPI™ applications include:
