Different types of collection substrates can be used on the Dekati PM10 impactor collection plates. The collection plates used in the PM10 impactor are designed for 25 mm substrates and Dekati offers aluminium and polycarbonate substrates for this purpose. The filters used in the back up filter stage (< 1 µm particles) are 47 mm in diameter, and Dekati offers TX40, Teflon and glass fiber filters for this. The collection substrates can be greased to prevent bounce and blow-off of the particles. The particles stick better to the greased surface, and the effect of bounce can be greatly reduced or completely prevented. Dekati provides suitable grease for this purpose in two different forms: grease that needs to be dissolved in a suitable solvent and then applied on the substrates, and grease already dissolved in the solvent and provided in a form of spray.
