CombustionELPI™ for Combustion Studies
ELPI™ has been widely used in measuring particle concentrations and size distributions from different combustion sources; in fact ELPI™ was first developed to measure particles from combustion power plants. The ELPI™ can be applied to measure emissions from combustion of both fossil fuels and biomass, and its wide operational range makes it possible to use it for measuring the concentrations before and after flue gas cleaning systems, and study their effect on the total emission rates. The size range of 7nm – 10 µm is ideal for measuring combustion aerosols. Selection of a sampling system in especially important in combustion studies to avoid changes in the particle size distribution and concentration caused by a poorly designed sampling system. Dekati provides state-of-the art solutions for sampling, e.g. the Dekati® Diluter and Dekati® Fine Particle Sampler are widely used in combustion studies. More information on applying ELPI™ to combustion aerosol measurements can be found here. |
