Operating Principle

Volatile and semi-volatile compounds cause variability in measured particle size and concentration through condensation and nucleation. These effects can be eliminated by using the Dekati® Thermodenuder. Volatile compounds are vaporised in an aerosol heater, which heats the sample to over 250 °C. After heating, the sample enters the adsorber section, where the vaporised compounds are adsorbed in active charcoal. The active charcoal is in the form of easily replaceable cartridges, also available from Dekati Ltd.
