Applications

The Dekati thermodenuder main application is removal of volatiles from automotive exhaust samples. If the automotive exhaust is primarily diluted in a CVS tunnel, it may contain an unstable mode of nucleation particles and a high percentage of the PM mass may actually be volatile matter instead of soot. In these conditions a thermodenuder is a highly effective tool to remove volatile matter and to always produce a ‘dry’ sample for the measurement instruments, thus increasing the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurements.
